Hallsworth & Lancon Malldoor

Chapter 1

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

A field of grass sways in the wind, light shining down to it from the moon. Chirps from crickets are heard. As another breeze of wind blows past, a bright light forms instantly with an unknown object appearing through it. The object becomes a horse-like figure, standing up on its four hooves in the field of grass. It looks around, its eyes shining from the moon light above. It notices a large tower ahead of itself, with lights and people with magic staffs and knights guarding around it.

The equine figure raises its head until it is fully forward, revealing a long horn beneath its mane. The creature then accelerates towards the tower at the maximum speed of its legs. As it approaches the tower, it is noticed by the guards and magicians. The knights position themselves beside the magicians, readying their bows and arrows. In tandem, the magicians prepare their staffs, initiating spells at their tips. Just as the arrows are launched towards the unicorn figure, it continues its advance.

The horse begins to form a bright light around its horn, which intensifies with yellow magic. Just before the arrows and spells in the air could strike the unicorn, the horse casts a spell that shatters the arrows and disperses the magic completely. As the archers and magicians prepare for another attack, the horse casts yet another spell, rendering them unconscious and causing them to collapse onto the ground.

When the unicorn got close enough to the castle wall, he uses another spell to teleport through it. Reappearing inside with another magic spell on ready. He looks around, noticing that the small castle has a lot of bookshelves with potions and books in them. He walks around as silently as possible, observing for what he is looking for. Before he could get far however, five knights burst through a double door with swords and axes. Keeping shields close to them for defense.

The unicorn spots them coming in and begins to gallop down a hallway nearby. The guards follow close behind. They eventually come to a stop when the unicorn forms a barrier behind him. It blocks them out of the room that the unicorn is in, allowing the unicorn to take a small breather. Sadly, this doesn’t last long when another group of guards, appears through another doorway. The unicorn spots this and forms another spell with his horn.

The guards start to slowly move in closer to the unicorn, keeping their swords and shields in defensive stance. As the unicorn backs up further away from them, he eventually comes to a wall. He looks back to the wall for a quick second, before looking back at them. With nowhere to go, he teleports behind the guards. They get confused, until the unicorn closes the door behind him. Following shortly afterwards, a large piece of wood to lock them out for a short period of time.

The unicorn pivots from facing the door and surveys the room. Observing that the space is another extended corridor, he opts to cast another spell. This time, the incantation endows him with the ability to see through the surrounding walls. Utilizing this capability, he discovers a hidden chamber within the hallway. He then dispels the current magic and casts a protective shield on all nearby exits. Subsequently, he approaches the entrance of the secret passageway and unlocks it.

He uses his magic to levitate a statue’s arm in a ninety-degree angle, and just like that the wall opens. The unicorn walks in, and watches as the wall closes behind him. Seconds later, he walks down a staircase until he arrives in a small room below. He walks into the room and gets greeted by five humans in robes and hoodies. With one of them ahead of the unicorn, taking off the hoodie. The person in the robe reveals to be that of a bald human, with printed marks on his forehead.

All the humans keep their hands within their robes, and hoodies over their heads. Keeping their faces hidden from the small amount of light in the room. The unicorn steps forward, looking up to the human in front of him. “Who are you? And why do you choose to invade that of the great Castle of Heka?”

The unicorn doesn’t speak for a full minute, looking around at the other humans with robes. When he does speak, his voice is deep but still easy to understand. “You wouldn’t understand, it’s something important I must take care of.”

“You are a foe!” The human with marks on his face exclaims, making the other humans start surrounding the unicorn. The humans appear glowing orange rods in both hands, getting into defensive stance. The unicorn forms a yellow magical glow around his horn, looking around at the rest of the humans around him. His attention moves to the person ahead, watching as they move back a few feet. Allowing the four people around the unicorn to take care of him.

The unicorn looks at each of the four humans, and is surprised as they start running in. The horse forms a spell to block their attacks, keeping it simple and defensive. Each of the humans notice this and move back their weapons. The unicorn removes the field and then stomps down onto the floor. The room begins to reshape in unfamiliar ways, creating patterns and moving the four robed people away from him. The man ahead of the unicorn is shocked by the sudden change in his environment.

He looks toward the unicorn and gets uncomfortable. “What in the name of-“ Before he could finish his sentence, the unicorn makes a sideways flip. Landing onto the ceiling and creating portals to have the four robed humans go through. Once they closed, the human with markings gets irritated, taking his magic staff beside him and running in. Taking advantage of the new change in environment, he jumps upwards and lands onto the ceiling in front of the unicorn.

With the magical staff in his hand, he begins to form red energy at the tip. The unicorn follows along, watching the human closely. They begin to walk to the left of the unicorn, making the horse go right. Spinning around each other, watching each other’s moves. Although, the unicorn was watching extremely carefully. Making sure that he doesn’t make a wrong move. The human stops and blasts a spell toward the unicorn. He teleports out of the way, reforming behind him and casting a spell toward him.

The human uses the wand to hit and break the spell apart. Making the spell completely ineffective. Nevertheless, the unicorn keeps going with not a single surprise in his eyes. The human puts his hand behind his back, hiding it as he starts creating another spell in secret. While with his other hand, keeps the wand tight in defensive stance. The unicorn doesn’t move his eyes off the human. Keeping them firmly on the human with markings closely.

The human doesn’t either but is feeling nervous about what else the unicorn has up its sleeves. The unicorn smirks during the silence, giving the man a worried look. Without needing to cast another spell with his horn, fake clones appear around the human. He looks down at each of them, unable to move. They start to slowly move in closer to him, giving him anxiety as to who is the real unicorn. Right as he was about to cast a spell to find the real one, his wand gets snatched out of his hand.

The clones disappear, and the real version appears with the wand in his mouth. Before the human could do anything, the unicorn uses his teeth to bite it in half. Breaking the wand’s power, leaving the man defenseless. However, this doesn’t stop him. “You think that will stop me?!” The man moves his hand away from behind his back and forms a spell to hit him. The unicorn repeats the same spell and tugs out their strengths in magic.

While the human’s magic was red, the unicorn’s magic was yellow. However, the unicorn’s magic is thick and wide. Making it stronger than the human’s magic, which overrides his magic entirely. Until the unicorn’s magic hits, the human and pushes him several feet back. Breaking the illusion of the surrounding and reforming the way it was. The human is sitting against the wall and floor, incapable of standing back up. The unicorn walks up to them and starts casting another spell.

Before he could, the human begins speaking to him. “Who… Who are you?”

The unicorn doesn’t speak, removing the spell from his horn and walking up to a small table. The table had a book chained up tightly, with a key lock. The unicorn doesn’t seem surprised, he forms another spell with his horn. Creating a magical key and unlocking the key lock. Allowing him to pick it up with levitation magic and blowing on it. Dust comes off of it and forms the name of the book under the dust. The name of the book being called, “Folding Sustaining Magic.”

"Please cease your actions immediately! Misusing those spells could potentially cause catastrophic damage to the entire universe," the human with markings stated, still seated on the floor. The unicorn, despite choosing to ignore the human, turned to gaze at them intently. Their eyes conveyed a profound sense of foreboding, as though the universe's demise was imminent. Without uttering a single word, the unicorn teleported away, leaving the human on the ground as guards swiftly entered the scene.

A king walks in amongst the guards, having golden colored armor and red feather on the top of the helmet. He looks down to the man with markings on his forehead, “What happened my warrior?”

Two guards walk over to the fallen robed person, helping him up to his feet. “A magical being that looks like a horse has taken the most powerful book. We have no ways of counter attacking what they can do with it.”

The king takes his helmet off and holds it beside him, looking ahead at the empty table. “Oh no.”

“What shall we do sir?” All the knights in the room, as well as the human with markings looks in the king’s direction.

After a minute of silence as the king thinks to himself, he looks to the other knights beside him, then the man with markings. “It looks like we might have to call Hallsworth and Lancon. They know what to do.” The man with the marking's nods in agreement, while the king looks over to the soldiers beside him. “You hear that everyone! I need you all to get Lancon and Hallsworth’s attention. It appears we have a code red.”

The soldiers salute and yell to the king in agreement. “Yes, your highness!” The guards help lead the king back to the main throne room, while the man with markings follows close behind. Before leaving the castle with a few guards, to alert Lancon and Hallsworth of the code red.

Chapter 2

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

Hallsworth and Lancon were sleeping from the long workday from yesterday. Hallsworth awoke to the knocking at the front door. He yawned and groaned as he slowly sits up in bed. He rubs his eyes and gets out of bed, starting to head to the front door. Lancon continued to lie in bed, still fast asleep. When Hallsworth got to the door and opened it up, he notices two skillful magicians and a group of knight soldiers.

Hallsworth freezes to the sight and stares with worry. Two of the magicians move out of the way, revealing the man with the markings “Hallsworth, so nice to see you.” He informs Hallsworth with a handshake, but Hallsworth continues to stare and be frozen.

Eventually he opens up to them and unfreezes, “Is there a problem, Pecarto?” Hallsworth asks the man with the markings, who appears to be named Pecarto.

“I’m sorry to wake you and Lancon at this time, but we have a problem. A major problem that could affect the entire universe as we know it.” Pecarto informs them. “Anyway, is Lancon awake? I’d like to explain to you both about the situation if I may.”

Hallsworth turns around to see if Lancon is awake or not. When he notices that he isn’t, he turns back around and shakes his head. “I can wake him if it’s that important.”

“Please do. We don’t have much time.” Hallsworth and doesn’t fully close the door, before heading back to the bedroom where Lancon was still sleeping. His eyes look down at Lancon in the bed and shakes him awake. He groans and stretches, before looking up at Hallsworth. “Hey, Pecarto is here, and he needs to talk to us about a situation that took place.”

When Lancon heard this, he got out of bed quickly and followed Hallsworth back to the front door. Pecarto is seen standing outside with the guards standing still on either side of him. None of them move, but they look out into the distance and wait patiently. The two magicians on either side of Pecarto follow him inside. Lancon and Hallsworth watch him come in and look around for a few seconds. He turns his head to look at them afterwards, “So, the reason I am here is because someone magical has taken the book of Folding Sustaining Magic.”

Lancon and Hallsworth grow shocked to the news, with Lancon responding. “Wait what?! Why would they do such a thing?”

“I tried to stop them, but their magic was too powerful to overcome.” Pecarto says but was soon cut off by Hallsworth.

“You don’t think it could be… Him? Could you?” Hallsworth asks but was relieved when Pecarto shakes his head.

“The last time I checked… He… Wasn’t a horse.” When those words slipped out of his mouth, Hallsworth and Lancon grew confused.

“Wait… A horse? Is this some sort of joke?” Lancon was beginning to feel a bit annoyed, like Pecarto was trying to pull a prank on them. However, Pecarto wasn’t appearing to show any sign of him lying. Pecarto stared at them with a serious look, like he was telling them the truth from his expression. Lancon, still wasn’t believing him.

“I know what it sounds like, but I am telling the truth. The horse was capable of magic from a thing on its head.”

Hallsworth’s eyes widened with shock, “Oh my Lanta, could it be?!” His tone of voice showed signs of him being excited, rather than simply surprised.

“Hallsworth, I’ve told you about this several times by now that unicorns don’t exist.” Lancon rolls his eyes shortly afterwards, but Pecarto interrupted.

“Oh yes! I forgot the name for a second there. Yes, it was indeed a unicorn.”

“Excuse me what?!” Lancon was starting to not believe any words coming from Pecarto’s mouth. However, Hallsworth was slowly getting more convinced that unicorns do exist.

“I’ve always knew that they existed but were just rare creatures.” Hallsworth sighed happily, but his smile drifted away when he remembered what the unicorn did. “Wait a second, why would a unicorn of all creatures want that book anyways?”

Pecarto shrugged, “That, I am unsure of. Although, you two better hurry and catch him before it’s too late. We don’t want him casting the spell in risk of the universe shattering upon us.” Pecarto’s tone of voice appeared to be very worried and frightened, like he was going to die.

“Don’t worry Pecarto, we will search this unicorn in hopes of giving that book back.” Hallsworth smiled and shook his hand, with a happy tone. Meanwhile, Lancon wasn’t having any of it. He still believed that Pecarto and the king were pulling a prank on the both of them. Pecarto’s expression might be serious, but he still believed otherwise.

“I still don’t believe that a unicorn, of all creatures would’ve stolen the most powerful book that we have. Are you absolutely sure that it was a unicorn?” Lancon asks him.

“You can come take a look yourself. I am not lying.” Pecarto informs him with showing no sign of lying or giving up.

“Fine, but if this turns out to be a larger waste of our time. Then, you can forget it.” Lancon’s tone of voice shows that he is still not having it.

Pecarto nods, “Fair enough, follow me back to the castle. I’ll show you where the event has occurred, and I’ll let you two go from there.” Pecarto leads them out, getting back to the rest of the knights and magicians before starting to make their way to the castle. When they arrived at the castle, Pecarto shows them to the room that the book was kept in. “This is where the book was stolen from.” Pecarto dismisses the knights and magicians, before watching Lancon and Hallsworth search the room.

Pecarto stands beside the doorway and watches quietly. Hallsworth looks over to Lancon as he searches around the table but finds nothing of interest. That is when Hallsworth notices something off, he finds what appears to be markings from the magical spells. However, it doesn’t appear to be a kind of magic that he is familiar with. After examining it for a few minutes, he looks over to Lancon with confusion. “Um… Lancon. Can you come over here for a second?”

Lancon walks over to him and stands beside him, looking down at the markings of the magical spells casted by the unicorn. When Lancon’s eyes locked onto the markings, his eyes widened in shock. “Wait a second, markings like these aren’t anywhere similar to our spells. In fact, from my research. No spells should be capable of performing such weird markings like these. Let me check what the particles have to show us.”

Lancon adjusts his clothes and himself, before putting his hands over the markings and lighting them up with a spell. Seconds later, Lancon reveals particles that are forming in a different pattern than he is aware of. After examining the particles for a bit, he eventually notices something about them. He looks over to Hallsworth, “Hey, do you have the book of Decrecy on you?”

Hallsworth opens up his shirt and pulls out the book from an inside pocket. Lancon grabs it and opens up to a page, before looking at the images inside. Upon further examining, he notices from the image that the particle in the picture is the opposite formation of the one he is seeing. He takes several glances back and forth, before looking at Hallsworth with a surprised look. “I… I can’t believe it. I never expected to see a formation of a particle like this one in my entire life.”

“Why? What about it?” Hallsworth asks, completely unaware of the comparison.

“Hallsworth, this magic particle is the complete opposite to the one in this book. I think we have just discovered ourselves a new form of magic.” Lancon didn’t seem excited, instead he appeared to be nervous or worried. Like as though the magic particle was a bad sign.

“Really? That’s awesome!” Hallsworth admits with excitement.

“Not exactly Hallsworth, something like this can be highly dangerous. Without a proper way of combing the two particles with two spells of the two specific magic properties. The effects that can happen if they combine would be drastic. It will cause a complete wipe of the universe if it meets this substance. The people within that fantasy would be rewritten to the more powerful form of magic.” Hallsworth scratches his head in confusion.

“But what about this form of magic?” Hallsworth refers to the marking, making Lancon look back down at it.

He reexamines it, before looking back at Hallsworth. “It appears to be wrapped in a field of our magic. Keeping it blocked away from harming our reality for the most part.” Lancon’s tone changes as soon as a thought comes into his mind. “The only problem is, is that it’s temporary until the user using it is either dead, or left this specific period, or just disappears. In which case, we better extract it as soon as possible.” Lancon creates a magic field and forms it around the marking and part of the floor. He yanks the piece out of the floor and sets it down against the wall.

“We also got to keep in mind, that this same type of protection shield can also cost a lot of energy for one user. Which is why, we should probably only get to see small markings of this magic being used with the field around it.” Lancon begins to examine the rest of the room, while Hallsworth searches for other markings to take with.

After a few minutes, Hallsworth and Lancon end up with a pile of markings from the unicorn’s spell castings. Hallsworth picks them up by casting a levitation spell, eyes meeting with Lancon. “So, what now?” Hallsworth asks him.

“To confirm this really was a unicorn, looks like we will have to use a special spell to see what really happened here.” Lancon takes out his wand from his pocket and steps back. Hallsworth takes the tablets from the walls and ceiling with markings, and places them near the doorway. He turns to Lancon and watches as he casts a spell. The room starts to slowly move backwards in time, before arriving to last night. Both notice what appears to be a unicorn as told by Pecarto.

Lancon stares in surprise, confused and amazed to see a unicorn with his own eyes. Hallsworth is amused, stepping closer with widened eyes. “It's true! It really is a unicorn! Just as I told you!” He flips his head around to look directly at Lancon. Who just rolls his eyes, before letting the scene play out.

He watches as the unicorn performs powerful magic against Pecarto. By the time Pecarto was on the ground, watching as the unicorn goes up to the book and takes it. He pauses the scene right as the unicorn is taking the book and leans closer to its face. He notices that a lot of features of the unicorn were much different than any fairytales. It confuses him, but he dismisses it once he fully understands the situation. “Where did he take the book? And why does he need it?” Lancon asks himself out loud.

Hallsworth shrugs, “Well, wherever he went. It must not be outside our time or dimension, or else these fields would’ve disappeared like you said.” Hallsworth informs Lancon.

“That’s right, which means he is still currently present here. But where?” Lancon starts to examine the scene closer, watching it play out a few more times. That’s when he discovers something about the unicorn’s last spell. It was a teleportation spell, making him slightly surprised. “Wait a minute, a teleportation spell? That’s perfect, I can just extract it and find out where he is hiding. It’s perfect.” Lancon looks around the room for a minute, before finding the location that the unicorn was standing before teleporting away.

He casts another simple and small spell, allowing him to see the small particles move on the surface of the objects around him. He soon finds an oval beneath him that is formed by the magic of the unicorn. He crouches down and extracts a small part of it with magic and placing it into a small container. “It’ll take a while before I can get the precise location of him, but it shouldn’t be too hard to decipher.”

“Well in that case, we better start extracting the rest of these magic particles from him before they deteriorate.” Hallsworth picks up the tablets with markings with his own magic and carries them out the door. Lancon follows but stops at the doorway and slowly looks over to Pecarto.

“Don’t worry Pecarto. We’ll make sure to bring that book back to you without a scratch.” He pats Pecarto on the back, before dismissing himself out of the room. Hallsworth and Lancon leave the castle and begin to head back home. That same night, Lancon stood up researching and closely inspecting the objects with magic markings. Hallsworth aided by handing him any books that were needed or reading out current sections. Sadly, after the many hours of research. They both pass out, with no hopes of finding the location of the unicorn. But Lancon refuses to give up and persists to claim that he won’t give up till he finds the unicorn.

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

A brand-new day has arrived, and Lancon was exhausted from the lack of sleep the night before. Hallsworth, meanwhile, wasn’t feeling anything else but excitement. Like he was going to meet with someone he hasn’t seen in a long time. Although instead of an old friend, it was a wild animal that had powerful magic on its hand's hooves. Lancon sat at the table and looked down at his sheet of paper. Hallsworth looked around the table and noticed a littered floor of crumbled pieces of paper.

“What’s with the mess of paper? Is that all your ideas from last night or something?” Hallsworth sounded curious and a slightest bit of worrisome, but Lancon reassured him with a comforting response.

“Don’t worry about all that, it was just me trying to comprehend the magic that was presented to us.” Hallsworth walked up beside him and looked down at the paper beneath Lancon. He saw what appeared to be a detailed visual of the unicorn’s magic particles, as well as several labels of different parts. He also noticed that Lancon had started to look inside a few particles. Hallsworth knew that Lancon was trying to understand the particles, so he could dissect them of the unicorn’s location. However, something gave Hallsworth a strange feeling that he couldn’t explain.

He looked down at Lancon with a sickened expression on his face, “I don’t feel so well.” Hallsworth mentioned out loud, making Lancon instantly look over to him. Lancon spotted that Hallsworth’s hand was touching the magical particles of the unicorn. This makes Lancon stand tall and push Hallsworth’s hand away from the particle. Lancon takes out a napkin with water and started to wipe Hallsworth’s hand clean.

“Hallsworth be careful! You have no idea what side effects these particles can give you. Hell, you might even change into a horse yourself.” When Lancon finished cleaning Hallsworth's hand, Hallsworth looked at his hand and gave a sigh of relief. He felt the sickness drift away, and feeling more alive. “Avoid any contact that you can with the particles. That’s why I am using my magic to manipulate them instead of physical contact.”

“First off, it’s not called a horse Lancon. Secondly… If it can change me into a unicorn. Then, I want to touch it more than ever now.” Hallsworth admits but gets halted by Lancon putting his hand in front of him. Blocking him from touching or getting any closer to the table. Lancon pushes him a few feet back from the table, then walks back to the table and sits back down.

“Hallsworth, turning into a horse or a unicorn. Can be a messy process, there’s no way to tell how it’ll pursue changing you. Or, if it’ll just kill you entirely.” Lancon uses his magic to dissect the magic particles further, until finally stopping himself to examine it. Hallsworth stands still, but stares at Lancon and the sheets of paper on the floor.

He sighs, “How exactly long will this take Lancon?” Hallsworth sounded impatient, like he really wanted to meet with the unicorn.

“Finding a location within a particle is no easy process Hallsworth, you’ll have to be patient with me.” Lancon continues using his magic to research and dissect the particles carefully, but Hallsworth walks out of the room with another sigh. Lancon rolls his eyes, knowing that Hallsworth can be immature sometimes.

Meanwhile

The unicorn was keeping silent and sneaky, roaming through the small town of gladiator Ville. A small town residing inside the Erosion Empire of Europe. He searches throughout the village, in hopes of finding any food to take. As he slowly and sneakily searches the village, he eventually comes across a food stand. He slowly walks up to the stand and uses his magic to grab a loaf of bread. He notices that the person behind the stand isn’t aware of his presence, so he takes the bread and hides it in his coat.

He looks around for anybody nearby, worried that someone noticed. He runs to a hiding spot before anyone can notice and sighs quietly to himself. It’s not long until he hears someone yell to him, a voice of an Erosion soldier that is carrying a sword and a shield. The eyes of the soldier looked straight at the unicorn, keeping his shield close to his chest and sword out. “Intruder!” The soldier yells. “You are under arrest, no sudden movements.”

The unicorn stares up at the soldier for the longest of time, until he uses his magic to disarm the knight. Sadly, other soldiers see this and start to slowly walk in closer to the unicorn. The unicorn sits upwards and looks toward the soldiers coming in toward him. He looks at them longingly, before starting to head the opposite direction. As he does, he arrives back at the village and notices that several civilians saw him. Each one takes a step back, avoiding getting into any contact with the unicorn.

Knights arrive to the scene shortly afterwards, with a small group on horses. The knights wielding swords and shields close to their chests, getting in front of civilians to guard them. The unicorn stands his ground, looking around at each civilian and knight. Afterwards, the unicorn takes his magic to push all the knights and civilians back. Allowing him to start running away from the scene. However, he gets stop by what appears to be magic forming around him.

He is incapable of moving for the longest of time, but as he looks around. He notices what appears to be Pecarto, the one with the markings. The unicorn looks into his eyes, seeing the frustration deep inside him. Pecarto walks up to the unicorn as the magic continues to keep him still. “Hello. Nice seeing you again. I’m sure you remember me back at the castle, don’t you?” The unicorn is left speechless, but he doesn’t look away from him. “Oh, what am I kidding. Of course you remember.”

“You stole something from us that is important to our nature. I’d like you to return it to us.” Pecarto walks up closer to the unicorn, nearly touching him. “Now… Where is it?” Pecarto reaches his hand down to the coat, feeling around for any sign of the book. As he feels around, he starts to believe that the unicorn isn’t holding it. He looks back up to the unicorn in the eyes, “You don’t, have it?” The unicorn stares into his eyes but was interrupted when Pecarto punched him in the face. “Give it to me now.”

Pecarto feels a field of magic around his waist. Not long after, Pecarto gets pushed several feet back from the magic. The unicorn uses his own magic to release himself from Pecarto’s. As the unicorn looks back up, he notices what appears to be an army of knights coming in. The unicorn watches them get closer with their shields up to their face and chests, and swords held up. The unicorn looks at each one, before using his own magic to teleport away.

The knights' inch closer to the unicorn’s spot but stop themselves when they notice clothes on the ground. They notice magic particles surrounding the clothes, but no sign of Pecarto anywhere. The knights begin to search the area, but with no luck. When the knights return, the leader of the group call to the rest of them. “Get Hallsworth and Lancon down here immediately.”

Chapter 4

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

Lancon had his head down on his desk, with several sheets of crumbled pieces of paper beneath his table. He heard the silence fill his ears, thus causing him to start waking up. He lifted his head up and looked around the room he was in. He noticed Hallsworth asleep on the couch in the living room, he rolled his eyes as he looked back in front of him. He saw two sheets of paper lying in front of him, each with different labels and plans on them.

He picked one of them up, examining it closer. After finding out that the labels and plans didn’t fit well in his mind, he crumbled it up and threw it to the side. His eyes turn back over to Hallsworth on the couch, starting to rub his eyes. He felt extremely exhausted, as though he didn’t get a lot of sleep the night before. He stands up from his chair and stretches, before starting to head to the kitchen and grab a snack. By the time he grabs a snack, a knock occurs at the door.

Lancon hears a sound and looks toward the front door. He places the snack on a table and walks to the door. Upon opening it, he sees several knights and magicians. This time, however, Lancon does not see the man with the markings. He looks for him among the group but cannot find him. Instead, another knight, who appears to be in charge of the group, approaches him. "Lancon, we have a problem that requires your assistance immediately."

“Where’s Pecarto?” Lancon asks the knight in charge.

“That’s the problem Lancon. We don’t know.” Once those words entered Lancon’s ears, his eyes widened, and he was shocked. He walked back inside, leaving the door open wide. Going over to Hallsworth, he shakes him away to get his attention. Hallsworth grunted and moaned, before waking up and sitting upwards to look at him.

"Lancon, is there an issue? Have you determined how to find that unicorn yet?" Hallsworth inquired, unaware of the knights standing outside the front door. Since he was facing away from the entrance, Lancon prompted him to turn around. Upon doing so, Hallsworth observed the knights at the doorway. "Oh…" he muttered quietly, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

Hallsworth got up onto his feet and walked with Lancon to the front door. As they left, Lancon closed the front door behind them and followed the knights and magicians. Hallsworth looks down at Lancon beside him, “Where are we going?”

“Pecarto is missing apparently.” Lancon mentions to him, not looking in his direction.

“Wait what?! What happened to him?” Hallsworth shows worry in his tone, which came as no surprise to Lancon.

“I don’t know, but that’s the reason we are following them. It might be a situation related to the unicorn. However, I have a strong feeling that the unicorn might’ve killed him.” Hallsworth gasped in surprise, but Lancon rolled his eyes. “Well, I don’t actually know if that’s true. But it’s something we will need to find out.”

They arrived at the location last seen of Pecarto, which Hallsworth and Lancon both notice was in the middle of a village. The leader of the group of knights, stands above clothing that closely resembles Pecarto’s. Hallsworth crouches down beside the clothing and was about to touch it when Lancon slapped his hand away. “Whoa there! Don’t touch that.” Lancon tells him, crouching next to Hallsworth.

“Why not?” Hallsworth asks blindly, like he doesn’t notice what Lancon was referring to. Lancon casts some simple magic, beginning to pick up the clothing with it. As he does, he casts another spell to reveal familiar hidden magic particles. As Lancon closely examines it, he notices what appears to be the two particles fully combined. Lancon begins getting curious the more he looks at the clothing, until he finally places them back down to the ground. “He’s not dead, he’s been reformed. His body was completely wiped to oblivion, but because of the laws of magic. He won’t return for God knows how long.”

“Right. But what would he reform to?” Hallsworth asks.

“Not sure. However, I have a feeling it will be from wherever this unicorn came from. Until then, I believe this may help us in finding where that unicorn is located.” Lancon picks up the clothing again with his magic and holds it up in the air above him. “We’ll be confiscating this clothing for evidence. I am hoping tonight; I can find out where that unicorn is hiding finally.”

“I hope so. I am getting impatient with waiting in finding that unicorn. I’ve never seen one, and I want to see it now!” Lancon places a hand on his shoulder and pats it gently.

“Don’t worry Hallsworth. Just be patient with me for a little bit longer, and I promise you. I should have it by tonight.” Lancon keeps the clothing held in his own magic, before looking around. He notices a knight to his left, who is talking with a few other knights. However, it strikes Lancon with suspicion when he notices a few small magical particles on the knight’s armor. As he looks around, he begins noticing magical particles forming a circle where he stands.

He looks around at the magical particles, looking up at Hallsworth. “It appears we might have to confiscate this entire area and extract all of the particles from it.”

“This entire area?! Why?” Hallsworth asks curious and confused.

“There are magic particles forming a circle beneath us, and on several objects here. The same goes with him…” Lancon points over to the knight to his left, talking to the other soldiers. Then, he looks at the civilians and a few knights who also appeared to have magic particles on them. “And anyone else who was exposed to the unicorn’s magic. If we don’t do something about it. Then, we are in a lot of trouble.”

Lancon looks at the leader of the knights, standing by and watching Lancon and Hallsworth. “Bring me anyone who was present here, and make sure they don’t leave. We need to clean the particles off of them before we leave.” The leader nods in understanding, before starting to order civilians and other knights in the area. Lancon looks back over to Hallsworth and hands him his wand.

Hallsworth is confused for a second, but Lancon reminds him. “You remember the spell I taught you last night about removing those magic particles? Well, I am going to need you to do that again. I am going to grab my paper and pen from the house, so I can try working on dissecting those particles down quicker.” Hallsworth nods, taking a step forth and beginning to cast a small and simple spell from the wand. He begins cleaning and extracting the particles from the ground and objects around. Lancon dismisses himself, beginning to head back to their house to grab his materials for notes.

Meanwhile

The unicorn was relaxing at the table, looking down at the books in front of him. He opens them both up to a page and positions them accordingly. Taking the loaf of bread, he took from the village, he cuts a slice and eats it. Afterwards, he pushes the bread off to the side and looks down at the books in front of him. He reads off a line from each book, keeping his horn lit up as he does. By the time he begins reading the second line, his horn shoots a large beam into the three books. The books get a shield around all three of them, lifting from the table and into the air.

Right as he finishes speaking the third line, a large shockwave and light is seen and felt. Entire villages, cities, planets, and even galaxies were affected nearly instantly from the sudden magic spell. People across the planet, feeling the sudden shockwave and getting nearly blinded by the light. Start leaving their homes and workplaces in fear and confusion, looking out into the sky for possible answers to the sudden shockwave and light.

However, it doesn’t end there. The books were still being lifted into the air by the unicorn’s magic. Another sudden shockwave is felt throughout the universe, nearly knocking everyone over. As the books continue to be in the field of magic, weird things begin happening. Lancon and Hallsworth start noticing changes in their environment, both feeling that they might be too late. Luckily, Lancon didn’t feel like giving up. So instead of surrendering, he rushes back over to Hallsworth and quickly goes in as quick as possible.

While Hallsworth continued to clean the mess of the magical particles, Lancon started examining and studying the particles presented in front of him. Hallsworth looked in his direction, worried. “Lancon, what is happening?!”

“My friend, we might be losing time. From what I know, this is the exact process in which the universe will collapse. We have about 4 hours max, before the universe shatters around us. If we don’t find that unicorn before then, we will all be dead or non-existent. Changing into a new form with this new type of magic presented to us.” Hallsworth gasps in terror, starting to rush in cleaning the surrounding area with no sign of stopping or slowing down. Lancon also does this, closely and focusing deeply into examining the magic particles. They were reaching the end, but Lancon was not giving up just yet.

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

After hours of searching and examining the magical particles, he has finally done it. Lancon stood up and tall as he takes his wand, putting it against his side. He looked over to Hallsworth, standing close to him. “We’ve finally done it. Now let’s get going before we waste any time!” Hallsworth agreed, getting close as Lancon gets the wand ready.

The guards preventing trespassers from coming in, turn around and watch. Lancon looks around at each guard, until their eyes lock onto the King’s eyes. Lancon and Hallsworth both nod in an assuring and promising look. Informing him without any words, that they’ll apprehend the unicorn and the book. After a few moments of silence between the two, Lancon takes the wand and begins to cast the spell. The spell takes a minute, but it eventually bursts from the wand and wraps a bubble around Lancon and Hallsworth.

After a bit, the outside world around them begins to slowly fade away. A new plain begins forming around them, appearing to be a small hut in the middle of nowhere. That’s when they saw it. Through the window of the hut, was the book. But not just the book, there was also two other books next to it. When Lancon notices this, he looks over to Hallsworth in confusion. “Hallsworth… Do you see what I see?”

Hallsworth looks to where Lancon’s eyes were locked onto and takes a minute to process what his eyes were making him see. When he finds out that it was real, his eyes widened. “I… I can’t believe it… I’ve been searching for those two books for centuries. How did they get here?”

When Hallsworth spoke out loud, another voice was heard above them. Hallsworth and Lancon looked upwards, above the hut. The unicorn stood tall above the hut, looking down at the two of them. The voice was deep, but still comprehendible to understand. “I have my ways…” Hallsworth grew slightly excited, but also nervous. When he saw the unicorn in front of his eyes, he couldn’t describe what he was feeling. That’s when he glanced over to Lancon a few times, pointing up at the unicorn and stuttering. “I… I t-told y-you that unicorn’s… e-e-existed.”

Hallsworth’s emotions flooded into him, and he screamed in utter excitement. “Oh my god! I can’t believe it!! I’ve read so much about your kind, and I… I-I just need a hug…” Hallsworth begun to slowly come forth to the unicorn, extending his arms out in a hug like fashion.

The unicorn dismissed it as expected, feeling uncomfortable from Hallsworth’s presence. “Please don’t touch me…” Hallsworth ignores his demand, continuing to get closer to the little unicorn in front of him. However, the unicorn was beginning to back up from Hallsworth, shaking his head. “Get away from me…”

“Hallsworth, I don’t think-“ Lancon was interrupted by Hallsworth stopping where he was. With the unicorn backed up against the wall of the hut, nowhere left to move.

“Oh, come on Lancon, I’ve waited so long for something like this. You have no idea how happy I am to find a unicorn so… Adorable like him. Now, give me a hug you!” Hallsworth stretched his arms out again, but this time. The unicorn decided to use some of his magic, causing a large wave of wind to push him and Lancon back. Lancon responds quickly, using his magic to cause a shield around himself. The wind blows around him, but Hallsworth gets pushed several feet backwards.

When the wind stopped, the unicorn’s horn stopped glowing and looked up to the two. “I heard you two were the most powerful magic users. So far, I’m not impressed.”

Lancon deforms the magic shield and stand tall, looking down at the unicorn. “We’re not here to impress you. We’re here to take back that stolen book you took away from us.”

“Trust me… You don’t want to do that. It’s for your own good and safety if I can borrow it.” The unicorn exclaims, but Lancon doesn’t listen to him.

"I regret to inform you that a book of this nature cannot be taken from custody without proper authorization. Moreover, you have illicitly taken it," Lancon stated as he began to approach the unicorn. However, the unicorn halted his advance by conjuring a barrier in front of him, effectively sealing off the entire hut with the unicorn still inside.

“You’re not taking anything… That book is necessary for the process of saving the world.” The unicorn claims.

"What about the other books you took? Those don't belong to you either. You must have all three for a specific purpose," Lancon states. “And that purpose must be to take over the world!”

“Please… Listen…” The unicorn demands, but Lancon isn’t having any of it.

“I will retrieve that book before it is misused,” Lancon declared. He positioned his wand against the barrier surrounding the hut and the unicorn, casting a spell that caused the barrier to disintegrate. Following this, Lancon advanced towards the unicorn, firmly holding his wand. The unicorn leaped in front of him, obstructing the entrance to the hut. Its horn began to illuminate and then emitted a beam, which propelled Lancon back a few feet. Nevertheless, Lancon managed to use his wand to mitigate the impact.

The unicorn shortly begins to create more magic spells, ones like magic blasts, lasers, beams, and even flying and using spells. However, as Lancon continues forth. His spells came out to be stronger, and all turned against the unicorn. That’s when the unicorn decided to use a replication spell, but slightly more powerful. This causes a large army of the unicorn to appear around Lancon. Surrounding him with copies of the unicorn, with possibly one of them being the real one.

Lancon doesn’t seem surprised, so he decides to use his wand to blow away all the illusions in an instant. Pushing the real one out of the illusion group and onto his back. But he decides to shortly teleport away from Lancon and reappear behind him. Lancon reacts by teleporting a few feet away. The unicorn uses his horn to nearly hit with Lancon with a magic spell. To only cause the spell to hit the hut and blast a hole into it. Revealing the contents on the table wide open for the taking.

Lancon looks over to the unicorn, before casting a literal replication spell. One that causes his fakes to be physically real, with no sign of illusion casting. Two of the copies of Lancon get behind the unicorn and pull him backwards, tossing him in the middle of a group of Lancon’s. Each one in a different pose of magical weaponry at their disposal. Meanwhile, the original Lancon decides to start making his way inside the hut. The unicorn spots this in the corner of his eye and burst a large ray of magic outwards.

This time it causes a sudden change in the environment that Lancon can’t fully process.  The environment begins to reshape like what he used for the four humans and Pecarto in the castle. Lancon turns around and notices what the unicorn is doing. The replications of Lancon start getting pulled backwards from the shifting ground beneath them. Spreading everyone out, including the hut being now in the distance from where the original Lancon stands.

The unicorn looks at each Lancon, before his eyes lock onto the original. When the floor stopped shifting, the unicorn begins going toward Lancon. The replicated Lancon’s start running toward him. The unicorn uses his hooves and horn to create more shifts in the environment around him. Causing the floor to extend with large pillars, making the replications slam against them. The slamming nearly killing the replicated Lancon’s by quick shifts in the environment.

By the time the unicorn was close enough to Lancon, with the floor beneath him preventing him from going anywhere. He was stuck, but the unicorn launched at him and pushed him down onto his stomach. The unicorn slammed his hoof against his head, making it stick to the floor. “Caught you! You aren’t getting those books that easy!”

Lancon on the floor beneath the unicorn, slightly smirked. “Nice try, but you were off by one Lancon.” The Lancon dissipates and leaves the unicorn looking at the shifted floor beneath him.

“Wait… What?!” The unicorn hears a shift of movement behind him, making him turn his head with a perked-up ear. But before he could process who was behind him, he gets hit by Lancon’s wand with force. Causing the unicorn to get knocked out from the sudden impact. The unicorn remained awake for slightly longer, feeling dizzy and a headache. As he was about to get up to his hooves again, Lancon used his magic to slam him against the ground beneath him. Causing the unicorn to black out, closing his eyes with a slight bloody nose.

Lancon stood above the unicorn, looking down at him with a surprised look. “Well… Never expected this kind of fight in my lifetime.” Lancon turned his head, looking over to Hallsworth coming over beside him.

“Is… Is he dead?” Lancon, rolling his eyes, pokes the unicorn with his wand. The unicorn responded with a groan, moving his back hoof a little closer to his body.

“He’s fine.” Lancon responds, watching as the environment around them begins to reform back together. By the time it returns to normal, Lancon walked into the hut and grabbed the three books on the table. He looked down at all three books, reading them out loud with Hallsworth beside him. “Two of these books have only been referenced in the book of ‘Folding Sustaining Magic.’ I never would of thought to see these in person.” Lancon says, looking over to Hallsworth for his opinions.

“Yeah… I wonder what kind of spells hold within them.” Hallsworth was about to take the books into his arms, but Lancon shakes his head.

"It’s fine, I’ll carry them. Let’s return to the king; he knows how to handle magic users like him," Lancon states, taking the wand and beginning to cast the teleportation spell again. A shield of magic forms around Lancon and Hallsworth, including the unicorn. Within seconds, they disappear from the hut and reappear where the king and knights are located. The knights are gathered around the field with shields and swords, and the king stands among them, equipped with the most protective gear.

But when the magic field vanishes, Lancon and Hallsworth were seen with the unicorn. Lancon steps forward with Hallsworth beside him, “We’ve got the books back and the perpetrator who took them.” Lancon informs them.

The knights and king lower their shields, then the king comes up to them. “Nice! Very well done! I’m so proud of you two. Thank you so much for catching the thief.” The king says the last word in a disgraceful tone toward the unicorn. Lancon didn’t disagree with him on his tone, accepting it as a suitable response. The king looks over to the other knights behind him, watching as the replacement of Pecarto steps forth with a collar in his hand.

“We also got ourselves a replacement for Pecarto’s disappearance. He’ll take care of the book, while I take this little guy to his prison.” The king watches as the replacement Pecarto straps the collar around the unicorn’s neck, before taking the book. But that’s when he spots the other books in Lancon’s hands.

“What are these?” He asks, making the king look over to them and the books.

Lancon reaches the books out, making the replacement take the books and examine them fully. His eyes widened after reading the title a few times, coming to be surprised by the sight. “Wait a minute… These can’t be real. There’s no way I am holding the last two most powerful books in all human existence.”

Lancon and Hallsworth sigh, slightly nodding to his response to the books. The replacement gives the books one last glance, before smiling happily to Lancon and Hallsworth. “Wonderful find you gentleman… I suppose me and the king will speak about a possible raise for the two of you.” He claims, before turning around and having the knights escort him back to the castle.

The king spots the books in the replacement's arms, before looking back over to Lancon and Hallsworth. “Or… A possible large promotion. I’ve heard many rumors about those books, so you have no idea how important this discovery is to us.” The king smiles largely at Hallsworth and Lancon, before turning to the other knights. “Knights, take the unicorn to his prison cell at once.”

The knights comply, a few of them lift the unicorn and head back to the castle. The king stays behind and hands Lancon and Hallsworth a larger bag of gold coins. “Here’s a token of gratitude for your hard work and patience,” he says, shaking their hands. Then, the king is escorted by the remaining knights back to the castle.

Lancon and Hallsworth were left alone, watching as the crowd begins to make their way past them. Everyone starting to forget what happened moments prior. Lancon looks over to Hallsworth, giving him a smile of gratitude. “Whelp, we did it Hallsworth. One of the most difficult missions we ever fulfilled on has been completed.”

Hallsworth goes off topic with a question as they began walking toward their house together. “Can we get some food or something? I’m starving…”

Lancon chuckles to the question, “Sure Hallsworth… Sure.”

Chapter 6

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

As the day went by like normal, the guards and a replacement of Pecarto, named Jiji. Was taking three magical books that were highly important, was riding his horse down a path in the middle of a forest. Four other guards were surrounding Jiji with protective armor. As they galloped down the forest, heading towards the castle in the distance. A sound was heard from within the trees.

Jiji looked around, not noticing anything suspicious behind the trees. However, he continued to listen to the sound closely. After some time went by, horses still galloping down the pathway. The knights in front on their horses hit an invisible magical wall. This causes them to fall off from their horses and nearly trip the others behind them. Jiji recovers the horse quickly, backing up with the knights behind him. Once the horses gained their balance, the knights get off the horses and hold out their swords and shields in front of them.

Jiji stands behind them, brandishing his wand and assuming a prepared posture. The two knights assist the fallen soldiers back to their feet. Shortly thereafter, the soldiers adopt a defensive stance, holding their swords in front of them. One of the soldiers approaches the invisible wall and touches it, causing it to become visible and revealing a large magical field.

The soldiers stand back a little, before a large magic blast hits the ground beneath them. Causing the soldiers to get knocked back a few feet, but Jiji remains where he is unaffected. Jiji steps back, looking into the sky to see what appears to be a wizard flying towards him. Instead of using a broom, the wizard was floating high in the sky with magical particles around him. By the time the wizard was above him, the wizard floats down in front of Jiji and looks at him.

Jiji examines the wizard that stood in front of him, noticing that the wizard was wearing a brown robe and a hoodie over his head. As Jiji looks at the wizard a bit longer, he eventually realizes who he is looking at. “Ozwald. Should’ve known you would be here.”

Ozwald, the wizard in the brown robe, doesn’t respond. Instead, Ozwald decides to hold out an arm over to Jiji and creates a fist. Magical particles appear around Jiji, causing him to lift into the air and begins to strangle him to death. As Ozwald continues to strangle Jiji, he uses his magic to take the books out of Jiji’s arms and into his own. Ozwald holds the books closely to his chest, before killing Jiji by fully suffocating him. When Ozwald was finished, he floats away and disappears into the distance.

Meanwhile

Lancon and Hallsworth walked into a hallway filled with jail cells, each one holding a different criminal. Hallsworth and Lancon were guided by a soldier in the front, with another behind them. By the time they got to the end of the hallway, the guard opens the door to reveal a small room leading to a much different room. Hallsworth and Lancon stand beside each other, the guard behind them decides to stand in place at the doorway of the small room.

The other guard gets in front of them, looking ahead at a blue unicorn inside. The same unicorn from earlier, laying on the ground sadly. The guard takes out a key and opens the door for Lancon and Hallsworth to walk inside. Lancon looks over to Hallsworth behind him, telling him to stand next to the door. When Hallsworth complied, Lancon walked slowly toward the unicorn laying on the ground in front of him. Lancon felt a wave of rage from the unicorn, making him stop six feet away from him.

The unicorn doesn’t look up to Lancon, but Lancon starts the conversation. “Hey…” The unicorn refuses to reply, continuing to avoid eye contact. Lancon’s eyes wander around the cell, noticing the mold and dust in the corners and walls. His eyes return down to the unicorn in front of him, “I came here to speak to you, since I know you can speak.”

“I can’t believe you did that. You ruined the last opportunity.” The unicorn implies, leaving Lancon slightly confused. Although, he shakes it off as he notices what the unicorn is referring to.

“You invaded our territory and stolen the one thing keeping us safe. It’s not our fault on your bad decision making.” Lancon informs the unicorn, but this catches the unicorn’s attention. The unicorn’s eyes look up to Lancon with rage and annoyance, standing up to his hooves.

“I did nothing wrong but attempt something your little minds can’t comprehend for the better.” Lancon chuckles to his statement, but the unicorn replies with more annoyance.

“What’s so funny?” The unicorn was keeping his ground, almost in a complete defensive stance.

“I don’t know why you would call what you did a good thing. It was a clear sign of a threat.” Lancon’s eyes return to the unicorn, noticing his expression. “I mean… You did injury and kill several soldiers just for getting your ha- I mean hooves on that book.”

“I didn’t kill anybody, and besides. I did that for the sake of getting past. There wouldn’t have been a better approach.” The unicorn replies, turning his body away and looking to the floor beneath him.

Lancon stands where he is, staring at the unicorn. “You could’ve just spoke to us about whatever idea you had in mind. We are quite open minded…” This causes the unicorn to quickly turn around.

“Ha! You think I haven’t tried that? It only caused me to get kicked out.”

Lancon shrugged. “I’m sure it was some sort of-.” Lancon gets interrupted by a quick response.

“Three times.”

‘Look, whatever reason you needed the books for. I am sure it’s something that we can work together to solve.” As soon as Lancon said that it caused the unicorn to laugh out loud. As though he was mocking him.

“The minds of humans are so small; they would burst from the simple thought of my reason. You would barely have the chance to escape the first part of it, before telling me how full of shit I am.” The unicorn nearly goes all full on Lancon, but it doesn’t affect him at all.

“Try me…” Lancon replies but causes the room to go quiet.

The unicorn stands where he is, staring at Lancon for the longest of time. Lancon’s expression shows that he was serious, but the unicorn doesn’t believe him. “I don’t think you’re even ready to hear what I have to say. My reason is completely for the sake of the future.”

“What do you mean for the future? To destroy it?” Lancon asks.

“To prevent a situation from occurring that would cause the total wipe of the human race.” As soon as the unicorn said that Lancon’s eyes widened as a thought came to mind.

“You… You’re talking about the future? Aren’t you?” Lancon says, nearly growing excited. “I’ve always wanted to know where we go from here. What’s it like?”

“You think this is some sort of joke, do you?” The unicorn replies. “Because I am trying to combine the magical forces to prevent a problem to arise.” Lancon didn’t listen to the second part fully, instead replies with something nearly unrelated.

“It’s not a joke; I fully believe time travel is-.” As soon as Lancon was about to finish the sentence, he barely catches the second sentence. “Wait… What?”

“What? You don’t know about the two kinds of magical particles in the universe? The second half that would complete the stability of the universe?” The unicorn fully looks up to Lancon, about to continue when Lancon interrupted him from speaking any further.

“I’ve been observing them. Ever since you got here, it was like a completely new discovery. I even concluded that it was the missing link to stability but only knew one way.” Lancon tells him.

The unicorn shakes his head, “Actually, there’s multiple ways of combining the particles. Each way, has a different effect to the universe.”

“Multiple ways?” Lancon replies with curiosity.

The unicorn nods, beginning to walk around him as he begins to explain. “Yes. There are multiple ways of combining a magical force, like for instance. What I’m doing, is carefully combining them in a way that wouldn’t cause a sudden disappearance to half the objects in the universe. Luckily since I’m here, it’s much easier to get your particles to recognize mine and not allow the particles to touch. To not cause a total wipeout.”

“I see, and what you’re using the books for. Is that completely safe?” Lancon asks.

"Yes. It's the safest option available; I just needed to access the books to activate the spell." The unicorn walks in front of Lancon and looks up at him. "If this wasn't done, the universe could face significant problems in the future."

“What do you mean? What’s going to happen?” Sadly, before the unicorn could continue. Two soldiers come to the cell door, knocking on it.

"Lancon and Hallsworth, your presence is required by the king immediately." Lancon gives the unicorn one final glance before he begins to follow Hallsworth and the soldiers out. The guards secure the cell door once more before escorting Hallsworth and Lancon to the king's main throne room. The unicorn observes their departure, then curls into a ball on the floor. With its ears laid back, it closes its eyes and falls asleep.

Chapter 7

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

As Hallsworth and Lancon walk up to the king’s throne, with the king looking down at them. Lancon stood forth while Hallsworth remained behind him. Several knights keeping guard with weapons and shields behind them. Lancon looked up to the king, “What appears to be the pro-.” Before Lancon could finish his sentence, the king spoke.

“Enough chit chatter, I have just gotten word by my guards from outside the castle gate. That Jiji hasn’t returned yet. I want you two to search for him.” The king said, making Hallsworth and Lancon to get slightly worried and concerned. “You’re dismissed.” The king says again, letting Hallsworth and Lancon to turn around and start walking the opposite direction. Hallsworth and Lancon exchange glances to each other, before leaving the castle and starting to make their way back to the village.

At Ozwald’s castle

Ozwald arrived back to his castle from his flight after taking the books from Jiji. He landed on the front door of his castle. The castle was large, growing of vines and leaves throughout the exterior. Windows had leaves and logs from the nearby tree’s growing through them. The castle stood upon a small hill, being half a mile in length and a quarter of a mile in width. The walls were 16 feet in height, wrapping around the main building of the castle.

As Ozwald walked into the castle entrance, he used his wand to light all the candles inside. Lighting up the castle with light, revealing a rich interior. The chandelier above was barely hanging from the ceiling but kept its grip. Ozwald walked up the main staircase of the castle, heading up to his private chambers. The room was dark but had a desk and a window. The window had no leaves or life growing through it but was opened to allow wind to blow through.

Ozwald placed the three books from his arms onto the disk. He gave the books one last glance, before walking over to the window and looking out into the distance. His expression grew a slight smirk, showing confidence and victory. “Finally…” He spoke to himself. “After years of temptations. I have finally got my hands on the books of magic and life.”

Ozwald took off his robe and hoodie, revealing a middle-aged man from the moonlight. Short black hair, green eyes, and light brown skin. The moonlight shining from the window glistened into his eyes, making them nearly glow. He looked over to the books once again, walking back over to the desk. He picked up one of the books, examining the cover. Afterwards, he opens the book up to a page to look through it. As he read through the page, he grinned.

“Now that I have the book. I can finally do the one thing I’ve always wanted to do for years.” He says, keeping the book in his hand as he comes up to the window. His body nearly fully outside but kept his hands on the book. He looked out into the distance once again, keeping a large grin on his face. “To rule that of the entire world.” He says to himself again, closing the book with satisfaction. “Those darn nitwits will finally bow to the real master of magic. No more ignorant fools…” He begins to laugh to himself, echoing into the distance around him. Making himself known and heard of his dominance.

Ozwald places the book back down onto the desk, still closed. He reorders the books, placing them next to each other. As he continues to look down at each book, he eventually begins to open each one up to a page. When he finds the correct page, he was looking for, he starts by reading the text inside. However, as he does so, he realizes that nothing is happening. He rereads the text, trying to make the spell work. Sadly, to no success, nothing happens.

He looks around the room he was in, curious as to if it was possible. The spell caused a different effect, but nothing appeared to be different or changed. Ozwald looked back down to the book, turning the page to find a line in red ink. The line read as follows, “To use this spell, please cast spell in page 103.”

Ozwald opens the page over to page 103 and is greeted with images and large amount of text. Ozwald examines the page a bit, before discovering what the spell was. The spell appeared to be called, “The Recasting.” A spell capable of transferring all magic properties of every user and putting it all into the caster of the spell. Thus, causing the user to be capable of using every spell in the books, and the universe. While being powerful, the user would also be highly dangerous from high levels of magic radiation.

Despite this, Ozwald grinned with excitement. Upon reading the next line, he notices that the spell will take twelve hours to be fully casted. He also reads another line claiming that the spell in one book, is not enough to complete the spell. Discovering that the pages for the other two books, were 103 as well. Ozwald opened the other two books to the correct page, before starting to read the full spell out loud. He kept his hands in front of him, facing the books fully.

As he continued to read the spell out loud, magic begins to form around his hands. The room begins to create wind, blowing objects around the room. However, Ozwald ignores the large number of distractions and continues reading the spell. By the time he reads the last line, his hands cast the spell onto the books. Causing a field of magic to form around all three books, before casting a beam of light through the ceiling and into the sky. Ozwald watches as the books cast the spell, before the beam and fields vanish and the books fall back down on the desk.

Ozwald continues to stand where he is, looking down at the books. A grin was seen on his face, but it fades as he begins to examine his surroundings. Wondering if the spell completed or not. As he looks around, he notices that no sudden changes have been made. He looks back down to the books, reading off a line from one of the books. “Changes will begin within an hour after spell was casted. Process will be completed in twelve hours.” Ozwald laughs to himself.

"Yes, I have successfully completed the task. Now, I shall rest and wait," remarked Ozwald, casting a final look at the books before proceeding to his bedroom. He left the books on the desk and waited patiently for the process to commence.

Chapter 8

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

Hallsworth and Lancon arrived back to the village, finding no sign of Jiji anywhere. Lancon searches around, hoping to find any sign of where Jiji might’ve went off to. Hallsworth remains where he is, looking around at the people going past him. Hallsworth then begins to speak to the locals around, trying to get information of Jiji’s whereabouts.

As Lancon approached the location where the events occurred, he endeavored to recall Jiji's direction. His gaze roamed until it settled on a seemingly familiar pathway. Lancon called out to Hallsworth to capture his attention while he hurried towards the path. Upon reaching the pathway, he observed a somewhat eerie yet grassy trail. Hallsworth remarked, "I remember that Jiji and his guards took this route. It is possible they were attacked."

Hallsworth gets in front of Lancon, “If you believe that, then I will take the leading stance here.” Hallsworth says, before beginning to go down the path. Lancon follows closely behind, glancing behind him in case anybody is following. Luckily to his surprise, nobody is following them. Hallsworth gulps in slight terror, hearing the birds chirps around them fade away as they go deeper into the path. Lancon gripped onto his wand in his hand, hearing closely to any suspicious sounds that may be of danger.

Back at the castle

The blue unicorn was still in his cell, laying on the floor with no way of escaping. However, the unicorn begins thinking to himself about how to escape. His thought makes him return to a memory from earlier escape attempts. He looks down at his collar that is strapped around his neck. Knowing that the collar restricts his magic abilities, he knows that all magic collars don’t restrict one thing. A spell too powerful for the collar to restrict, and that was the spell of Calibration.

The unicorn took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he begins to slowly cast the spell through his horn. As the horn was beginning to light up, the collar attempts to discharge the spell. Sadly, the spell was getting brighter and brighter. By the time the magic around his horn was bright enough to be blinding, he used the spell to completely shatter the collar off. The collar falls off from his neck and falls onto the floor.

The unicorn opened his eyes to discover that he was free from the restrictive magic collar. He stood up to his hooves, and casted another spell of teleportation. Reappearing in the main throne room, he was behind the king’s throne when he heard voices. He quietly and sneakily goes over to the side of the throne, looking over to the king. He noticed the king in his throne, speaking to two other guards and an officer of all armed forces.

The unicorn noticed that the ranking officer was a rank behind the queen, maintaining a part of the armed forces. The unicorn was slightly disgusted from the sight of the officer, noticing how ugly their appearance was. The unicorn shortly noticed the second throne beside the king’s, which was seated upon by the Queen. The unicorn’s ear perked up from the conversation, listening closely.

“Your majesty, a tragedy has just occurred down at the school in one of the schools. Several students and teachers were killed from a fire that had no source of cause. However, the church suggests that it’s a sign of anger from the child that committed suicide a few days ago.” The officer said, keeping his head lowered for respects of speaking with the king and queen.

When those words entered the unicorn’s ears, he knew instantly what the officer was talking about. A child known as Larry, died not long ago and is just now attacking the school. The unicorn knew that the entire empire didn’t have long, before the child will attack the rest of the kingdom in full form and force. This made the unicorn look back up to the king and queen, knowing that he should hurry before it’s too late. He used his magic to teleport on top of the king, using his magic to lift the knights and officer into the air.

The queen freaks out, about to call the rest of the security until the unicorn casted another spell to put her to sleep. The unicorn also used his magic to block the knights and officer’s mouths, preventing them from getting back up. Once he was done removing the threats, the king was left in terror as he investigated the unicorn’s annoyed expression. “Your majesty…” The unicorn said with a slight bow, but with no showcase of respect.

“I came here to ask you of where you put those books, and where those two magicians are located. You don’t want me to use my magic to get into your head to get that information myself now, do you?” The unicorn said, almost freaking the king out. The king gulped, hoping that the unicorn won’t kill him or injury him in any capacity.

The king eventually spoke after a minute of silence in terror, “I don’t have the books… I sent Hallsworth and Lancon to find them for us.” He claims, before standing up to the unicorn. “But… I’ll never tell you. You monster… You deserve severe punishment.”

The unicorn straps magic around his neck, nearly causing him to suffocate. “If you don’t tell me, you’ll be burnt to the ground with everyone inside buried in the ground with ash and dust with one spell. Now tell me, where are they?” The unicorn sounded annoyed and irritated, almost wanting to kill the king for wasting his time.

The king struggled to speak from the lack of air coming into his nostrils and mouth but eventually gives up. “Village….” He grunted, struggling to get air into his lungs. When the unicorn heard the response, he let go of the king’s neck and casted a spell to make him passed out. Then, he teleports away and let’s go of the knights and officer. Falling onto the floor and hitting their stomachs, before going over to the king to wake him up. The officer eventually decides to grab back up, leaving the two knights to keep the king guarded in case the unicorn returned.

Back to Hallsworth & Lancon

Hallsworth and Lancon were still on the path, with near silence filling their ears. As they continued down the path, they eventually come across what appeared to be familiar horses. Lancon looks over to Hallsworth, “Wait a minute, I think we are close!” Lancon cries out, starting to run forward. Hallsworth followed closely behind, before Lancon stopped in his tracks. When Hallsworth came up beside him, they both noticed dead guards and Jiji lying on the ground.

Lancon walked up beside Jiji’s corpse, crouching beside him and poking him. Upon discovering no sign of Jiji being alive, Lancon glanced over to Hallsworth in confusion. “I was right… They were attacked.”

“By what thought? This can’t be a natural cause, right?” Hallsworth asked, walking over to the corpses, but was greeted by the smell of decay. He pinched his nostrils to block the smell, backing up a few feet.

Lancon ignored the smell, searching for clues about what happened to Jiji and the guards. Hallsworth looked around while keeping his distance, before his eyes locked onto what appeared to be a castle in the distance. The castle was not like the king’s and instead had dark clouds above it. Hallsworth looked over to Lancon, “What about him?”

Lancon looked up to Hallsworth in confusion for a second, before looking toward the direction Hallsworth was facing. By the time Lancon noticed the castle, he shook his head. “There’s no way he’s back… I thought he was killed from the war.”

“Well… I don’t think the castle agrees with that statement.” Hallsworth exclaims, looking into Lancon’s eyes with a serious expression. As though he truly believes that the man himself came back from the dead. Ozwald, the magician of dark magic and chaos. One that was defeated in the war several years ago and has now returned with vengeance. Lancon’s eyes looked back toward the castle, gulping before nodding.

“I guess… There’s only one way to find out.” Lancon says, glancing over to Hallsworth before starting to take the lead toward the castle in the distance. Hallsworth followed, slightly terrified, but mostly confident to keep going.

Arriving to the castle, Lancon and Hallsworth walked inside and were greeted by the scent of plants. With the tree’s, plants, and leaves growing around the castle. It made Lancon sneeze from smelling the scent. Hallsworth continued forward, following Lancon inside and seeing the castle mostly abandoned and quiet. Lancon examined the castle closely, before discovering that the castle had no sigh of Ozwald being anywhere. “See Hallsworth? I told you he is dead. There is no way he could be alive again.”

“Shush!” Hallsworth says, beginning to listen closely to his surroundings. Lancon is left speechless, his eyes wandering around as his ears adjust to the silence. Lancon was about to tell Hallsworth he told him so, but he heard something that caught his attention. A familiar laughter coming from upstairs. Lancon’s eyes wandered and latched onto the staircase leading up to the second floor, leaves and flowers growing around it.

Hallsworth whispered over to Lancon. “You hear that?” Hallsworth asked, before he and Lancon begin making their way up the stairs and onto the second floor. Continuing to keep quiet to themselves, they listen closely to the noise. The noise was heard again but heard much clearer this time. Lancon got in front of Hallsworth, keeping his wand tightly gripped in his hands as they both followed the source of the noise.

When they approached the door from where the noise originated, Lancon opened it outward. A familiar person was standing in front of a beam of light shining through the ceiling, with a visible countdown showing six hours remaining. Lancon recognized the man immediately and said, “Ozwald, you have returned.”

Ozwald turned his attention away from the beam of light and looked at Lancon and then Hallsworth. "Hallsworth... Lancon... I wasn't expecting you. You are just in time to witness the beginning of my rule over the universe." Ozwald said with a grin.

Hallsworth and Lancon noticed three books lying on Ozwald’s desk, each with magic beaming out through the ceiling. Lancon looked at Ozwald, “I see you attacked Jiji and stolen our books. Care to return them to us?”

“Oh no my friend. I am simply borrowing them for my plan. My plan of world domination is about to begin like I’ve always planned!”

Hallsworth looked down at Lancon, “Do something Lancon!” Lancon nodded, taking his wand fully into his hands and begins to cast a spell from it. The magic light around the tip of the wand lightens up, before casting out a beam of magic toward Ozwald. The spell hits Ozwald but shows no effect of impact. Ozwald kept his balance, looking at Lancon with confidence showing on his face. Lancon stood there confused for a second, before about to cast another spell.

Sadly, nothing comes out from the wand. Lancon’s eyes wandered down to the wand, wondering to himself what just happened. Ozwald begins laughing, “The first process of my ruling has started taking effect.” Lancon stared at Ozwald, terrified by the occurrence. “You’ll all enjoy your new ruler of the entire universe. Be my slaves…”

Lancon casts a spell, lifting Ozwald into the air. Ozwald struggles but then watches Lancon and Hallsworth move further into the room. “You can’t stop it! I will be your ruler one way or another!” Ozwald laughs as they approach the book. Lancon tries to turn a page, but his hand is pushed back by a magical field.

Lancon looked up to Ozwald with a serious expression, “Tell me how to stop it now!” Lancon yelled to him, but Ozwald shakes his head.

“You can do whatever you want to me, but you will never stop the process.” Ozwald begins laughing, watching Lancon and Hallsworth struggle to find a solution to stopping the magic spell from casting. That’s when the spell keeping Ozwald from the ground vanished and caused Ozwald to fall back down to the floor. He keeps himself afloat from the ground, floating only a foot from the floor. He looked upon Lancon and Hallsworth, grinning widely from their failure. “You will never win from my plan. You will be my new servants one way or another.”

Ozwald laughs and casts a spell, lifting Hallsworth and Lancon off the floor. Lancon drops his wand, leaving him defenseless. Grinning, Ozwald says, “You will now watch me become the most powerful magic user in the universe!” He looks at the magic beam going through the ceiling as the countdown shows less than 6 hours remaining.

Chapter 9

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10

As Hallsworth and Lancon struggled to escape the magical properties surrounding them. Ozwald stepped forth toward the books, watching as the magic floods through the ceiling, and into the sky above. Lancon looked down toward Ozwald, yelling down to him. “Stop this at once! You will not win!”

“I’d like to differ... Young one…” Ozwald replied and slightly chuckles. “Don’t you see? Your magic is slowly draining out of you and spewing into my soul. Once it’s finished, I’ll finally have enough magic to do my true plan. Making you all my slaves.” He laughs once again but gets interrupted by a sudden burst through a wall. Ozwald turns his attention toward the interruption, noticing what appeared to be the unicorn from earlier.

“Sorry bud, but those books don’t belong to you.” The unicorn says, before teleporting behind Ozwald. Shortly later, uses a magic beam to blast Ozwald several feet backwards. Ozwald hits against a shelf, before catching his fall and looking up to the unicorn. Before he could react however, the unicorn was already running up to him. Before eventually slamming his head against the underside of Ozwald’s chin. About to knock out Ozwald, uses his magic to become invisible. Leaving the unicorn alone with Lancon and Hallsworth being held in the air with magic still.

The unicorn begins searching the room carefully, waiting for Ozwald to attack. His back comes up to a wall, which the unicorn shortly gets a tug from his back hoof. Pulling him backwards, until getting slammed onto his back on the floor. Ozwald reappears above him, taking his arm out toward the unicorn’s neck to strangle him. However, the unicorn’s horn begins lighting up with magic. Ozwald notices this, about to use his own magic to block it from escaping.

Sadly, he fails and the magic bursts out from the unicorn’s horn and blasts Ozwald into the ceiling. The unicorn stands back up, before bumping his head against Ozwald. Causing him to go flying several feet backwards, before hitting against a wall. Ozwald stands back up to his feet, but before the unicorn could do the same trick he did before. Ozwald does a front flip over the unicorn and quickly forms magic around his fist. It soon causes a large explosion into the unicorn’s face, blasting him through the castle wall.

The unicorn now laying close to the edge of the foyer, watches as Ozwald stands in front of him and over him. Looking down to the unicorn with dominance, “I’m sorry little one, but I am the more powerful magic user here. With each passing second, I gain more powerful. Thank you for wasting the time that I need to gain my strength.” The unicorn looked ahead toward the clock ticking down, being now five hours and a half till completion.

The unicorn felt tempted to let Ozwald gain full strength, curious to see how powerful he can become. However, his eyes latched onto Lancon and Hallsworth in the magic fields. He would feel guilty for wasting precious time. The unicorn got back up to his four hooves, looking at Ozwald as he does so. Ozwald was about to use his foot to kick the unicorn off the edge, when the unicorn reacted by dodging and grabbed his foot. Ozwald’s eyes widened, and the unicorn looked down toward his foot. Before biting down hard into his leg, causing Ozwald to scream in pain.

Before Ozwald could kick him off, the unicorn kept his grip hard onto his leg. Before eventually pulling Ozwald off the ledge, making him fall toward the floor of the foyer. The unicorn watched but was disappointed when Ozwald begun levitating. Due to the sudden disappointment, the unicorn used his magic to detach the chandelier above. The chandelier begins getting looser with each passing second, before eventually bursts off its chain and falls straight onto Ozwald’s head.

Incapable of reacting quick enough, Ozwald gets squished by the chandelier. His bones instantly break from the fall and the weight of the chandelier, preventing him from moving. He groaned and moaned in pain, trying to crawl out from under the chandelier. The unicorn looked down towards him, before starting to make his way back into the room with Lancon and Hallsworth. The unicorn used his horn to break Lancon and Hallsworth free from the magic fields.

They fell safely to the floor, looking over to the unicorn. Lancon about to arrest the unicorn, when Hallsworth stood in his way. “What do you think you’re doing? He saved our lives!”

“So? I appreciate that, but he not only escaped. But also stolen that book from us, that isn’t forgettable on any degree.” Lancon replied, slightly annoyed with Hallsworth.

The unicorn shortly begins remembering the events that occurred at the castle with the king. Remembering the conversation about Larry, and how he destroyed the school. He knew that if he didn’t do this now, there won’t be much time left for him to complete his real reason for being there. The unicorn took a deep breath, before standing up beside Hallsworth and looking into Lancon’s eyes. “Look… I need to tell you something… But it’s not going to sound pretty.”

“What?” Lancon replied.

"I have traveled from the future to assist you. If my mission is not completed, it will lead to chaos and catastrophic events that could threaten the whole world." The unicorn gazed at the book on the table, which still emitted a magical aura. "My intention is not to engage in conflict; I am here to prevent annihilation."

“Okay… Why should I believe a word you said…?” Lancon asked, starting to disbelieve everything the unicorn is saying.

“You don’t have to… What I need you to do… Is trust me.” The unicorn replied, showing assurance and truth to his words. This causes Lancon to start slightly smiling, before giving the unicorn a hoof-hand shake. Afterwards, a large beam of magic bursts through the book, interrupting their conversation. The unicorn stands back a little but begins approaching the books slowly as the force from the beams begin growing thicker to go through.

Lancon and Hallsworth watch, unsure of what to do in the situation. By the time the unicorn stood in front of the books, he reached out to the book covers of one book. The magical beam blocks him from touching, making him decide to use magic instead. This causes him to struggle in closing the book, lots of force preventing him from closing. He decides to start grunting and growling, putting more force into his magic. The beam begins weakening as the book cover blocks more of its exit.

By the time the book cover was halfway, the magical beam comes to a complete halt. Allowing the unicorn to officially close the book, making the other books stop using their beams. After the magic beams stopped, the unicorn is left panting from the large amount of energy put into his magic. Lancon and Hallsworth walked up beside him, putting a hand onto the unicorn’s shoulder. “Are you okay?” Lancon asks.

“Yeah… I am fine.” The unicorn replies, looking up to them with a slight smile.

Lancon also slightly smiles, “Good… Let’s do what you said and get to work on preventing whatever event you’re trying to stop.” The unicorn officially makes a full smile by the time Lancon said those words. However, the three of them get interrupted when the unicorn gets pushed into a wall from a large beam of magic. Lancon and Hallsworth watch as the unicorn slams against a wall. Falling shortly after onto the floor, flopping onto his stomach.

Lancon and Hallsworth’s attention drifts over toward the entrance, revealing to them a levitating Ozwald. “You might’ve put a stop to my plans. But thanks to the time put into the spell, I have half of all magical particles in the entire universe. Making me the most powerful magic user ever!” Ozwald laughs, looking down to his crippled legs. He reaches his arm toward them and uses his magic to heal them together. Ozwald laughed, his eyes latching onto the unicorn, Lancon, and Hallsworth in front of him.

“Nobody can stop me now!” Ozwald reaches his arm forward, forming a magic field around Lancon and Hallsworth’s necks. Both struggling to breath for a second, before Ozwald stops strangling them. He shortly later picks up the unicorn from the floor, giving him a close look. “Even you can’t stop me…” Ozwald laughs evilly in the unicorn’s face, showing nothing but confidence and dominance from it. The unicorn’s eyes widened, unsure of how to approach this new situation presented to him.

Chapter 10

Chapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9 Chapter 10

Hallsworth and Lancon stood where they were confused, watching as Ozwald walked further into the room. Lancon and Hallsworth stood a few feet back, before Lancon decided to use whatever magic he had left to fight back. He discovers that he has plenty of magic left to use a special spell he had under his belt. He yanks out a magic whip, shining brightly with purple magic around it. Lancon leaps above Ozwald, yanking out to his whip towards him.

Ozwald dodges, creating magic fields around his hands to cause the floor beneath Lancon to shapeshift around him. Shielding him inside a box, getting tighter and having less room to breathe. Hallsworth yelled out to Lancon in worry, “Lancon!” His eyes wandered over toward Ozwald, continuing to get closer to him. Hallsworth backs up a foot, before creating a magic field around his fist. Hitting the floor and causing a large shockwave throughout the castle, Ozwald is unaffected as he continues to float in the air.

However, it causes objects throughout the room to be flown towards him. Ozwald dodges each object and hits them away from him. Eventually, Ozwald picks up the table holding the books behind Hallsworth with his magic and slams it into Hallsworth’s face. Slamming him into the floor and allowing Ozwald to float over him and go over to the books laying on the floor. Right as he was about to pick up the books, the unicorn terraforms the surrounding environment.

The environment changes to a plain white room, blinding to the eye to look at. The unicorn uses his magic to move the books closer to him and move Ozwald further away from him. The unicorn picks up the books, having them float beside his head as his eyes meet with Ozwald in the distance. “Interesting move, but have ever you ever seen this trick?” Ozwald asks, creating a magic field around his hands. This causes a loud yet distance horn of a train to be heard.

The unicorn quickly reacts, teleporting before a train could hit him. Ozwald grunts in annoyance, using his magic to reappear the unicorn in front of him. The unicorn is confused, until Ozwald roundhouse kicked the unicorn several feet back. The books getting released from the unicorn’s magical grasp, as his head hits the floor beneath him. The room begins to terraform back into the castle, Ozwald uses his magic to pick up the books. “You are indeed powerful… But not as powerful as me.” He laughs to himself.

The unicorn stood back up to his hooves, turning to face with Ozwald. By the time he regained his balance, the unicorn grew a smirk. “You think you are so powerful huh?”

Ozwald’s attention drifts back up toward the unicorn. “You are all weak to my real strength. None of you are a challenge for the great Ozwald.” He laughs, but it gets interrupted by the unicorn.

“Maybe this’ll be a challenge for you then…” The unicorn creates magic around his horn again, before blasting a large dimensional portal toward Ozwald. Left in confusion and stuck frozen, the unicorn quickly uses his magic to grab the books before Ozwald entered through the portal. Once Ozwald was gone and the unicorn had his grasp onto the books, the room became silent. The floorboards wrapped around Lancon fell flat down onto the floor, releasing Lancon. Hallsworth pushes the table off him and gets back up to his feet.

Hallsworth reached his arm out toward Lancon, helping him up to his feet. Afterwards, their attention drifts back over to the unicorn with the books in his magical fields. Instead of attacking or arresting the unicorn, they walk over to him. “What did you do to Ozwald?” Lancon asked, looking over to where Ozwald was floating.

The unicorn smirked back up towards Lancon and Hallsworth, “A place where I come from. A place he won’t be causing any more problems from now on.”

Hallsworth and Lancon glance to each other, before smiling after hearing that. Lancon grabbed one of the books from the unicorn’s magical field, looking through it. “So… You said something about preventing a dangerous outcome. How exactly do we do that?”

The unicorn grabbed the book from Lancon’s hands and pulled it closer to him. “It’s a spell I must perform. The same one you guy’s interrupted me from earlier.” The unicorn exclaimed, causing Lancon and Hallsworth to slightly blush in embarrassment from the unicorn’s slight annoyance. The unicorn picked the table back up from laying on the floor, placing the books on top of it. He looked up toward Lancon and Hallsworth, “Stand back about 5 feet from the table while I begin the process…”

The unicorn opens to the same pages he did from earlier, beginning to speak out the spell in the book. Eventually, his horn casts the spell into the books and causes the books to be lifted from the table. Floating in the air with magical fields surrounding them. By the time he finished reading the third line in the third book, a large shockwave and beam gets casted from the books and into the ceiling and sky above. Hallsworth and Lancon nearly lose their balance, watching as the beam dissipates and vanishes. Causing the books to flop down onto the table, leaving the three of them standing in silence.

The unicorn stands in confusion for a minute, unsure if the spell worked correctly. As he starts examining the books more closely, Lancon speaks out. “Oh my gosh…” Lancon replied, making the unicorn look up toward the two. Noticing that Lancon was using his magic again, casting a few simple spells before casting a spell to look at the particles. The unicorn walks out from behind the desk and comes up beside him. The three of them saw the original magical particles, latching onto the unicorn’s particles.

The unicorn started to grin, “It’s working… Just like how I wanted.”

Lancon eventually stops showing the closeup of the particles and looks over to the unicorn. “You are absolutely curtain this is required for the future?”’

“Yes, absolutely.” Lancon and Hallsworth give each other glances, before giving the unicorn the confirmation.

“Then, I suppose you were just trying to do the right thing for the sake of the future then. And for that, we thank you. For whatever thing you were trying to prevent.” Lancon reached out his arm for a handshake, which the unicorn accepted. Hallsworth was about to grab the three books, when the unicorn stopped him,

“Ah! You guys are only allowed to have this book.” The unicorn hands Hallsworth the same book that they had before the unicorn stolen it.

“But… Why?” Hallsworth asked.

“I must return them to the rightful owners who had them. I can’t just let you guys keep them. It would be troublesome.” The unicorn replied, showing from his tone that he is being honest and serious. Lancon looked over to Hallsworth, shaking his head. Making Hallsworth turn around and begin heading out of the room they were in. Lancon looked back over to the unicorn with another smile.

“Thanks for the help.” The unicorn shook his head.

“Nah, thank you for the help. If you guys didn’t let me do this, there would’ve been several catastrophes and deaths.” Lancon watched from where he was, watching as the unicorn opened a portal to an unknown location. What appeared to be a mostly desolate wasteland, giving Lancon one last grin and nod. Before eventually turning toward the portal and walks through it. Once he was gone, the portal closes and leaves Lancon and Hallsworth standing in a castle that was now abandoned.

When Lancon and Hallsworth returned to the castle, a catastrophe occurred at their castle. A little boy named Larry, attacked their castle and killed every guard, the king, queen, and prince with mystical abilities that couldn’t be defined. Taking over the kingdom that Lancon and Hallsworth lived within, before eventually the entire kingdom was burnt to ashes and forgotten upon the history books. Hoping to forget about the past and the attack, in hopes of the demonic entity doesn’t return.

Meanwhile

Ozwald attempted to pass through the portal created by the unicorn, but it closed before he had the opportunity. He descended from his levitation to the ground below, noticing that it had a rich texture with a carpet lying beside him. Observing his surroundings, Ozwald realized that he was in some sort of castle. He began to inspect the area, curious about his location. However, he soon heard laughter coming from ahead.

Ahead, he saw a throne levitating slightly above the floor. Though it faced away from Ozwald, he knew someone was there. "Who's there? Show yourself to the amazing Ozwald!"

The throne begins to rotate, ultimately revealing that it is unoccupied. Ozwald appears perplexed and moves closer to the throne. Just as he is about to touch it, he hears movement behind him. Confounded by the sounds around him, he decides to sit on the throne. "Whoever is present, you are now my servants. Reveal yourselves immediately, or I shall compel you to do so," he declares.

Right as Ozwald says that a dragon claw touches the top of the throne. The claw pushes the throne backwards, flipping it around to reveal a completely new environment. Ozwald finds himself in a casino, with himself at a table of poker with other people in fancier clothes than himself. The people begin laughing and drinking shots, completely unaware of Ozwald’s presence. Two women do notice him, coming up from either side of him in half naked clothing. Rubbing their hands against his chest and face.

That’s when the throne flips again, but this time throws Ozwald out of the throne and onto his face. Ozwald gets back up to his feet, turning around to look at the throne, confused by the sudden change of scenery. Finding himself in a different scenery this time, mostly that of forest. A laugh is heard from above him, making him turn around and look above himself. This is where he finds a large gray scaled dragon. He was many times larger than himself. Ozwald was terrified as he pushed himself to his feet, backing away.

Ozwald yells at him, “Who are you and why do you choose to attack the amazing Ozwald?!”

The dragon snorts from the question. “I’m sorry, but the amazing Ozwald has nothing against someone such as me, Reginald.” He lands onto the grassy field in front of Ozwald, causing the ground to shake upon his landing.

“Sorry to disappoint you Reginald, but I am much more powerful than you can ever imagine.” Ozwald casts a ball of magic to strike Reginald. Although, the magic was instantly consumed by Reginald like he was absorbing it. Ozwald steps back in shock, his eyes widening. “Okay, I wasn’t expecting that. I might be able to still find a way through that. I am still far more powerful than you could ever imagine.”

“Hmph.” Reginald scoffs, nearly mocking him with a smirk slowly forming on his muzzle. “I will say, your magic does feel quite lovely.” Reginald steps closer, making Ozwald step back more. Until suddenly tripping backwards, landing on his back.

“Get back you beast!” Ozwald shoots another blast of magic at Reginald. Although, that also gets consumed within a matter of seconds. Ozwald watched in horror, before pushing himself back up to his feet. Then he began to run into the forest, not daring to look back. He can’t find me in here! I’ll be safe here. Then I can find my way back and show those fools that I mean business. Ozwald ran as fast as he could, minding the trees and branches as he pushed past them. It wouldn’t be much longer until he found a lake with a river running into it. He heard the roar of the dragon flying overhead. His eyes went to the sky above, noticing the gray scaled beast flying over him. There must be a way out of here! He then began to follow the river, hoping that it could lead him out of here. It wouldn’t be much longer until he suddenly found himself in the same castle as not long ago. Somehow the world managed to trick him. He gasped and looked around, his eyes darting in the direction he just came from. NO! How did I-? Before he knew it, the gray scaled beast of Reginald appeared in front of him. Ozwald turned his whole body around to face him. “How did I-?”

“For as much as I love to play with my pray. I must say that now is not the proper time for this.” Reginald begins to slowly approach him, his eyes locked with his. He licked his lips and showed his glistering white teeth. Then Reginald gestured his claw at him, causing him to be lifted into the air with a bubble of magic. He tried to set himself free, but it was no use. “Now, I shall take your power to help further my goals and plans. Then you shall be forced to work for me for all eternity as punishment for your crimes.” Ozwald was about to open his mouth in protest. But then he felt a large burst of energy withdraw from his own body. He screamed loudly in pain as he felt it all escape him. Reginald consumed it all, grinning from ear to ear.

Finally, the magic was gone from his own body. Reginald let go of him, letting him fall face first into the solid floor below. He grunted and groaned in pain, barely having enough energy to push himself up to his feet. Reginald made a noise within his throat that sounded a lot like a chuckle. Reginald turned and started to leave, stopping at a doorway that led off to the rest of the castle. “Come my servant. You shall aid your new master.” Ozwald lifted his head up to look at Reginald. His creepy yellow eyes stared him down like he saw his own soul. Ozwald gulped, slowly and cautiously lifting himself up. He wanted to protest, but with no magic and barely any energy. He was incapable of saying or doing anything to show he was stronger than him. “I wish for a delicious meal and a spring cleaning of my whole castle. Do it, and I may let you free centuries from now.” He hissed; the smirk still plastered across his muzzle.

As soon as Reginald left the room, Ozwald was left to ponder to himself. He looked at his own hands, then his surroundings. Realizing very quickly that this may be his new home. He clenched his fists, feeling the anger seething through his body. “You will regret messing with the great Ozwald. I will be your downfall.” He growled, staring at the door. He thought that Reginald couldn’t hear him. Although, he was proven wrong as he felt a sharp pain surge into his mind and his whole body. He gasped and groaned in pain, nearly collapsing onto the floor. He caught himself with his hands, feeling the sharp energy dissipate as quickly as it appeared. Quick stalling and get to WORK! The inner voice of Reginald demanded in his brain. Ozwald took a moment to regain his composure. Then he pushed himself up to his feet, taking a deep breath, before following Reginald out of the room.
